Property tax rolls up, counties to see revenue jump

Property tax assessments are roaring back this year in the wake of the real estate market's strong turnaround. Every Bay Area county is reporting strong growth in their assessed rolls, meaning more cash in their coffers come tax time.

For many homeowners, this will mean higher taxes - not just the 2 percent increase allowed under Proposition 13, but potentially even more if they got a big tax cut during the real estate downturn
